Excerpted from Cecil Daily
“A week after the town filed an injunction to prevent a suboxone clinic from locating in the downtown, the town board passed a resolution enacting a six-month moratorium on all medical practice development within town limits.
“During a roughly seven-minute special meeting Thursday, the board voted unanimously and without comment to enact the resolution, which takes effect immediately. Though the meeting drew a considerable crowd, the resolution generated little public comment.
“The resolution states that the zoning laws related to the practice of medicine should be ‘re-evaluated with respect to the development and, or establishment of offices, facilities, and, or, other places intended for the practice of medicine in certain zoning districts.'”
